The ancient book is the center of the ultimate discovery.

Jaya and Varun's final stand on the nightmare.

the second part of the story of Varun Varma , Varun faces nightmares involving a mysterious boy. The story revolves around his struggle to uncover the truth behind the dark dreams and his connection to Jaya, setting the stage for a desperate quest to be free from their shared suffering.

In the dark of the night, Varun's recurring nightmare takes a horrifying turn - a mysterious boy, whom he has seen many times before, gives a sinister warning.

This time, it wasn't just Varun who was haunted; Jaya too was plagued by the same dark entity. Together, they embarked on a desperate search for the key to their freedom, which was buried deep in Varun's own garden.

But what they discovered wasn't just a key - it was a cursed book with the power to trap them in a world of endless nightmares. Faced with a terrifying choice, they must decide whether to follow the boy's final instructions or risk everything to destroy the dark force that haunts them both.

Varun's nightmare and the key to the dark world.

Varun had been having the same nightmare for several weeks. Every night he would find himself in a deserted playground where a boy was swinging on a swing.

In the first half of Jaya's story , she grapples with horrific nightmares that threaten her mental state. The story revolves around these dark visions and her quest to understand her mysterious connection with Varun, which leads to a revelation that sets the stage for their intertwined fates.

The boy had huge earrings in his ears which did not suit his small body at all. His gaze was very sharp and there was a command in his voice.

"I appreciate you! You did a good job. You completed your work on time, just as I promised. I am happy today."

This will be my last appearance before you. After today, you will not see me in your dreams. The nightmares will stop when you dig in your garden..."

Tired and confused, Varun tried to understand what the boy was saying. "Why should I dig in the garden? You promised that the nightmares will stop once I am done. Why are you giving me a new condition now?"

The boy's face remained stern. "Focus on the solution, not the instructions."

Disappointed, Varun asked, "What is the guarantee that if I do this, the nightmares will go away from me forever?"

The boy replied, clearly frustrated, - "You don't get the point. Just listen to me!"

Varun was still unsure, he mumbled – “Okay, tell me,” though he wasn’t completely convinced.

The boy's tone became even more serious. "Remember my message well. Today is the last time I am coming to you. You will have to dig in the backyard of your house.

Dig deep into the center of the garden, and you will find the key to the dark world."

Varun's heart started beating faster - "Is the key to the dark world buried in my garden?"

The boy added, "And one more thing: If you don't find the key, Jaya's nightmares will never stop. Over time, her nightmares will increase even more, and in the end, she will become a mental patient forever."

Varun was very worried now, not only for himself but also for Jaya – “But why tomorrow?”

Before Varun could ask more questions, the boy got off the swing and disappeared into thin air, leaving Varun alone in his turmoil.

Varun woke up with a startle, tears streaming down his face. The weight of the boy's words was weighing heavily on him. He immediately called Jaya.

Heaving a sigh of relief, he said - "Jaya, listen to me. Come to Amish City as soon as you can. Meet me at my place in about an hour," he said urgently.

Jaya agreed, sensing the urgency in his voice. Varun hung up the phone and quickly tried to compose himself.

An hour later Jaya reached Varun's house, she looked very upset - "Varun, what happened to you? Have you gone mad? Couldn't you have told me everything on the phone? You had made me very upset!"

Varun sat on the couch and tried to calm her down - "Jaya, I understand you are upset, and you have every right to be. But trust me, I didn't call you to make you uncomfortable."

“Then tell me the reason for your call,” asked Jaya.

Varun took a deep breath - "I saw that boy again in my dream last night. This time he said that this would be his last tour."

Jaya's face softened - "This is good news, isn't it? Your problem is finally over."

Varun hesitated and said - "But he put another condition before me."

Jaya's worry returned again - "What kind of condition?"

Varun told everything about the dream he had the previous night - "He asked me to dig in the middle of the garden behind the house. He said that this is where I will find the key to the dark world."

Jaya was surprised and said -  "So what's the problem? Just dig in the garden and find the key."

Varun looked down, his voice low -  "The problem is... the garden is no longer ours."

Jaya frowned and said , "But you said that the garden is yours."

Varun sighed and said “I sold my garden to the neighbours last week.”

Jaya shrugged - "Then we will buy it back from the new owner."

Varun shook his head "We can't do that. The new owner has already left India and won't be back anytime soon."

Jaya's frustration grew  "This isn't fair, Varun. Does this mean we have no way to fix this?"

Varun replied firmly "We have only one option. When the watchman goes for food, we will dig in the garden."

Jaya became curious "Why would the watchman go outside the garden to eat?"

Varun smiled a little and said - "Because his wife had gone to her village two days ago."

Jaya raised her eyebrows - "How do you know that?"

Varun shrugged - "I'm just a concerned citizen of Amish City!"

Later that day, they both waited for the watchman to leave, but even at 3 pm, the watchman remained at his post.

Jaya and Varun were losing hope. Suddenly, the watchman's friend came and they both talked for a while and then left together.

The garden was much bigger than Jaya had thought. She asked Varun -  "Do you know where the centre of this garden is?"

Varun smiled confidently “Of course I know. I spent my childhood playing here. I know very well where it is.”

They reached the middle of the garden and started digging. Despite their efforts, they did not find anything related to the key. After digging six feet down, Varun's disappointment increased.

Jaya saw his uneasiness and said -  "Varun, there is still time till midnight. Why are you getting so worried?"

"The boy told me that if we don't find the key by sunset it will lose its value," said Varun with a tense face .

Hearing this, Jaya realised the seriousness of the situation and was shocked. Tears rolled down her eyes when she thought that she might lose her mental state due to the bad dreams.

As Varun took another step into the pit, he heard the sound of metal hitting something solid. Excited, he dug further and pulled out a wooden box, which was not very big, but was old and worn out. Without wasting time, he picked up the box and ran back to Varun's house.

They opened the box and found a book inside. They were both confused—how could this book be the key to the dark world? When they brushed the dust off the cover, they were shocked by what they saw. On the cover was a terrifying image with the title "The Key to the Dark World."

Varun immediately realized the danger. He did not open the book. Instead, he grabbed it and ran outside, asking Jaya to follow him. Jaya was shocked and confused, but she followed him without asking any questions.

They rode on Varun's bike and headed towards the river that separates Amish City and Patla. Once there, Varun threw the book into the river without any hesitation.

"Why did you do that?" Jaya asked, still trying to catch her breath .

Varuna took a heavy breath and said , "That book was cursed. If we had opened it, we might have become its slaves."

Jaya, still skeptical, asked - "But how did you know without reading a single word?"

Varun explained - "If we had read even a single word, this book could have trapped us in its curse. It could have manipulated our minds and connected us to its dark powers."

Jaya nodded slowly, understanding what he said - "But what about my nightmares?" she asked, remembering the boy's words.

Varun reassured her -  "The boy said that if we find the key, you will be free from nightmares. I think we have done what we had to do."

Jaya and Varun both felt relieved. The nightmares that were haunting them were finally over forever.

Back home, Jaya asked, "How will we know that the book is gone and we are really free?"

Varun replied “We have to search in libraries and the internet to know more about this book and its connection with us.”

He spent days researching, poring over old records and online archives. Finally, he found a website that explained the history of the book in detail. The picture on the site matched the one on the book's cover.

The site reported that the origin of this book is unknown, as is the reason for its being written. This book had the power to enter people's dreams, manipulate their thoughts and cause nightmares.

The only way to destroy it was to submerge it in water, as it would still leave its mark even if buried in the ground.

After getting answers to their questions, Varun and Jaya realise that they have done the right thing. They are finally free from the curse that was troubling them.

In the end, Varun and Jaya bid goodbye to each other promising that they will always be there for each other when needed.
